Reading signs and symbols is not anything unusual. Inspect your routine life, and you’ll figure out many of them. On a wet floor, you’ll observe a wet floor sign. To indicate luxury homes for sale, you’ll see a for-sale sign on a luxury home. To tell other drivers that a baby is travelling in the car, you’ll observe a baby on board sticker on the car… There are just a lot of them! And, reading them is surely not a difficult job for you. However, when you consider evaluating signs on the face of an individual, not many people might know how to interpret them. To many, evaluating body language is the work of a psychologist, and a common man might not be able to do it. However, this might not be completely true.

They say practice makes perfect. The tag line truly applies here. The science of reading body language does carry musch of depth in it, and you are not going to master at it overnight. The foundation law of psychology is that every brain is different and therefore every person is different. Therefore, you will require practice to be a skilled person at evaluating it. Yet, there are some signs that are too apparent for everybody to comprehend. For instance, your hands tell much about what you have in your mind. If someone is sitting/standing with a posture that conceals his hands, it means that he is concealing anything from you.

Firstly, let’s take a look at the ‘crossed arm’ posture. Crossed arms might be read in several ways. If you are talking and the person hearing you has his arms crossed, it says that you still have a long way to go before you could get him convinced on what you are talking about. This posture might mean that the person does not agree with you, or he might be concealing anything from you. On many occasions, it will also denote arrogance and defensiveness.

If an individual has his arms crossed while he is talking, it may suggest that he is somewhat nervous or uncertain about what he might be talking about at that very moment. This posture might also say that he is concealing anything, or he might be lying. On the whole, a crossed arm posture denotes that a person is trying to save himself, or is scared from the within. Now, look at the ‘hand-in-pocket’ posture, it depicts that a person is uncomfortable in the environment around. When a person supports this posture, it means being nervous or bored in the ambiance. Hands in pockets are a sign of concealing, and this is the reason why it may also be considered as disloyal stance. On the whole, it is an indication of the lack of poise in a person.

Reading body language does not finish here. Your eyes, legs, feet, fingers, arms and eyebrows, all have different things to tell about you. Every gesticulate might exhibit different behaviors which can be interpreted in different ways. Therefore, the science of reading body language is a deep phenomenon which gets more interesting as it gets deeper.
