Note: This sensor must be used with the GE 45129 Wireless Control Center or with the GE 45142 Wireless Control Center Starter Kit (each sold separately). The GE 45132 Motion Sensor can work alongside other wireless Choice Alert components as part of a GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System.

Part of the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System
The GE 45132 Motion Sensor is part of the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System line of products. Cost-effective and easy to install, Choice Alert components offer wireless operation, multi-zone coverage, home and away settings, all-weather function, and expandability for complete home protection.

With wireless capabilities, Choice Alert products require no complicated wiring, drilling or expensive installation costs. And because they are designed to be part of a self-contained system, there are no monthly usage charges. System components are simple enough for anyone to use, and can be combined to provide a customized blanket of protection over your entire property.

Wireless Control Center for Sensor Monitoring
The entire Choice Alert Security System is designed around the Wireless Control Center, the system's hub. The Control Center monitors each and every sensor that is wirelessly connected to it. As many as four sensors can be programmed in each of four zones, giving you the security of up to 16 sensors to guard your entire home, including sensors for doors, windows, gates, water leaks, and motion detection.

The Wireless Control Center allows you to secure your system with a custom four-digit code that can be changed at any time. Plus, the center lets you control many system features. For example, you can select 'Home' mode for an instant alarm and 'Away' mode for a delayed alarm. In addition to the armed alarm system, the Control Center also offers a visible and audible Zone Notification alert system (with a choice of continuous alert or single chime mode) and a dedicated alert zone (Zone 4). The center wirelessly transmits and receives signals up to 150 feet.

Additionally, the Wireless Control Center features a low-battery indicator that will alert you when battery power is low in a specific zone, so you'll know exactly when to replace the batteries in every one of your components.

Combine Components for Total Home Coverage
To complement the Motion Sensor, there are several components available for use with the Wireless Control Center, including a door/window sensor, a water leak detector, a secondary audio alarm siren, a signal repeater (for enhanced wireless range), a garage door sensor, and a Silent Alert LED indicator. Add up to 16 sensors and give yourself the peace of mind that only complete home protection can provide.

All-Weather Motion Sensor Installs Anywhere
The versatile GE 45132 Choice Alert Motion Sensor can be installed anywhere, inside or out. Its weather-resistant design allows the sensor to function in most climate conditions, and its ball-joint head swivels to allow ample coverage. The sensor covers a wide, 110-degree area at a range of up to 40 feet, so it's ideal for living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, garages or backyards. And, the 45132 can be mounted up to 150 feet away from the Wireless Control Center (not included). It needs no wiring or electricity for operation, running off a single nine-volt battery (not included).

The Choice Alert Motion Sensor works with any of the Wireless Control Center's four zones. When the Motion Sensor is paired with Zones One, Two, or Three, the Wireless Control Center will emit a loud alarm that lets you know motion has been detected in 'Away' mode only. The Motion Sensor will not activate an alarm in 'Home' mode, so you can move freely around the house when the system is armed. Alternatively, when the Motion Sensor is paired with Zone Four (the dedicated alert zone) on the Wireless Control Center, a continuous alert will notify you of motion in a specific area.

The GE 45132 Choice Alert Motion Sensor is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

slow to set off alarm

Review Date: June 14, 2010
Reviewer: C. Smith,
this motion detector works really well at detecting any movement but then doesn't set off the alarm for about 30 seconds, all the while beeping as if to give an intruder directions to the home unit so he can destroy it before the alarm actually sounds. the time between activation of the motion detector and the alarm needs to be shortened.
Wish It Worked Like GE Says It Does

I bought two of these motion sensors. After initiating communications between the sensors and the base unit I found two disturbing things. First, they do NOT communicate up to 150 feet - I was lucky (after moving the base unit around a dozen times) to get about 35 feet with fresh batteries with nothing more than two drywall walls between them. Not very useful and this forces you to put the base unit in potentially awkward places. Second, as far as being weather-resistant? I found that they stopped working when their temperatures dropped below 35 degrees. So, unless you live in Florida, my observations indicate that these are not useful anywhere but in a nice, dry, warm environment. I did find the construction of the sensors to be adequate. But I must take issue with the base unit... it's cheaply built and does not function exactly like the manual states. Further, YOU CANNOT USE THESE motion sensors in ANY mode except for "Armed When You Leave The House Mode"... so I have to question, what's the point then! Final opinion: not a well thought out product, cheap, doesn't work well, and well, you get what you pay for and I'm upset I wasted my time and money on these. They're pretty much JUNK.
Works as promised for a good price

Needed an unmonitored alarm for lake cabin. This works as advertised with the control panel. Highly recommend. Amazon has best price I could find on these by large margin
Not Dependable

Review Date: October 25, 2009
Reviewer: Golf Man,
The motion sensor was not capable of transmitting a signal to the control center which was located only 60 feet away and only one exterior wall in its path. The wall consisted of vinyl siding 2 windows and a fiberglass door with glass in it. My advice is to buy a more powerful motion sensor which undoubtly will cost more but will be dependable.
Works as intended

First of all, to use this you need a Control Center GE 45129 Choice-Alert Wireless Control Center.

A few things to note that were not apparent until I bought this and a Control Center:

- the motion sensor can connect to the Control Center in two ways, either in one of the first three Zones (1, 2, 3) or in the fourth Zone (4) and the Control Center has a different behavior in these two categories.

- In Zone 1, 2, or 3: the motion sensor can only operate in Alarm mode, not in Monitoring mode. Other sensors apparently can be setup to either Alert, Chime, or just show an indicator light for its assigned Zone based on a switch on the Control Center (the switch has settings of Alert / Chime / Off); this setting is applicable when the Control Center is disarmed (not in AWAY or HOME alarm mode). But the Motion Sensor DOES NOT work in this way - it ONLY WORKS in AWAY or HOME alarm mode, when assigned to Zone 1, 2 or 3.

- When assigned to Zone 4: the motion sensor triggers an Alert only, which ignores the Alert / Chime / Off switch. The Alert cannot be silenced, only muted once it starts.

Since the alarm is overkill for what we want (monitoring our sleepwalking child), we plan on keeping it in Zone 4, and unplugging the Control Center without batteries in it to shut if off during the day. The Alert itself should be sufficient to wake us up.
